I was lucky enough to live in Bergen (Norway) for a time.  I look back on it with a real fondness.  It’s a fantastic place to live if you love the outdoors – walking, sailing, canoeing etc.  In fact if it wasn’t for the enormous and crippling taxes I’d still live there now and I doubt I’d leave very often either.

Here are a selection of pictures that represent the sort of things you’ll find outside around Bergen.  Not the tourist drivel that they force the day trippers to see, but some things that are a bit special and still free to see and visit.
